Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information AwakeKt ("we", "us") handles when you use AwakeKt Studio ("Studio") on Android, desktop, or the web at studio.awakekt.com, and the Awake Cloud service that supports it. The short version: your projects stay on your device unless you publish them, we run no analytics or advertising, and the personal data we process is your account, what you publish or report, and what is needed to check a Studio Pro subscription.
1. Information we process
Your projects and files
Projects, scenes and assets you create or import are stored on your device: in Studio's own storage on Android, in folders you choose on desktop, and in your browser's storage or a folder you pick on the web. We do not upload them unless you publish them (below). When you export a project, it goes only where you choose to save or share it.
Your Awake Cloud account
Signing in is optional; you need it only to publish or report projects. We use Firebase Authentication (Google) to run accounts. It keeps your email address, a user ID, and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account's ID, name and profile picture. Your password goes to Firebase, never to us. Studio keeps a sign-in token on your device so you stay signed in. See Firebase's privacy information.
Projects you publish
When you publish a project, Studio uploads its files to Awake Cloud with the name, description and thumbnail picture you give it, and Awake Cloud records your user ID as its owner and when it was updated. A public project can be found, downloaded and played by anyone. A private project is served only to you, signed in. Don't put personal information in a project you make public.
Reports
When you report a project, Awake Cloud stores your user ID, the project, the reason you chose, the details you write, and when you sent it, so we can review it.
Subscriptions (Studio Pro)
Subscriptions are bought on the web through our authorized payment partner or merchant of record shown at checkout (such as Paymentwall or Lemon Squeezy) or through an app store (currently the Samsung Galaxy Store). The payment provider or app store processes the payment; we never receive your card or bank details. For web purchases, our payment partner sends Awake Cloud your subscription status, plan, order identifiers, and renewal or expiry dates so we can activate your Studio Pro entitlement.
We use RevenueCat, Inc. to manage app-store subscription status. The RevenueCat SDK in Studio creates an anonymous app user ID and sends RevenueCat your purchase and receipt details and basic device and app information (such as device model, operating system version, app version, and country or locale). When you sign in to Awake Cloud, Studio gives RevenueCat your Awake Cloud account ID instead, so your subscription follows your account to other devices; signing out goes back to an anonymous ID. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Awake Cloud
To unlock Studio Pro, Studio sends the anonymous RevenueCat app user ID to Awake Cloud (cloud.awakekt.com). Awake Cloud asks RevenueCat whether that ID has an active subscription and returns a signed licence certificate that is valid for up to 24 hours. We do not store the certificate. When you publish a private project, Awake Cloud asks RevenueCat whether your account ID has an active subscription, since private projects need Studio Pro. Like any web service, our hosting (Google Cloud) and the web version's hosting (Cloudflare) keep standard request logs, including IP address, time, and browser or app details, for security and troubleshooting, typically for up to 30 days.
What we do not collect
Studio has no analytics, advertising, advertising identifiers, crash reporting, location, camera, microphone, or contacts access, and uses no tracking cookies.
2. Why we process it
We use your account, your published projects and the subscription information above only to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract), and reports and request logs only to keep the service safe, lawful and working (legitimate interest). We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.
3. Who receives it
- RevenueCat, Inc. (United States): subscription management.
- Paymentwall, Lemon Squeezy, Samsung (Galaxy Store) and Google (Google Play): payment and purchase records on the web or in an app store, under their own policies.
- Google (Firebase Authentication, Google Cloud): accounts, published projects, reports and hosting.
- Cloudflare: hosting of the web version.
- Anyone, for projects you publish as public.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual safeguards.
4. How long we keep it
Project data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall Studio. A published project stays on Awake Cloud until you delete it, or delete your account. Your account stays until you delete it. Reports are kept while we review them and for as long as needed to deal with repeated abuse, and are deleted with the reporter's account. An upload that is never published is deleted after a day. RevenueCat keeps subscription records under its own retention policy. Awake Cloud keeps no subscription data of its own, and its request logs expire as described above.
Deleting your account
In Studio, open the account menu at the right of the top bar and choose Delete account. This deletes your account, every project you published and the reports you sent, straight away. You can also do this from the web version at studio.awakekt.com/web, or ask us at [email protected] from your account's email address. See how to delete your account.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, the EU and UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority (in the Philippines, the National Privacy Commission). To exercise these rights, email [email protected], or delete your account yourself as described above. We will ask RevenueCat to act on subscription records where needed. Uninstalling Studio deletes the project data it stored on your device. We do not sell personal information.
6. Children
Studio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
Traffic between Studio and our services uses HTTPS. Only a private project's owner can read it, and Studio sends your sign-in only to Awake Cloud. Licence certificates are cryptographically signed so they cannot be forged.
8. Changes
We will post any change here with a new effective date. For material changes we will also give notice in the app or another reasonable way before they take effect.
